We have short-term debt problems and long-term structural debt
problems. They're different.

Here are the problems:

(1.) Obama didn't go to the mat with the Tea Party. He should've
threatened to veto any Tea Party-esque bill and invoke the 14th under
that argument that he would refuse to not pay social security or
military paychecks. By the time the courts ever got to rule on
anything the country would be 100% with him and the Tea Party would be
dead.

(2.) Because #1 didn't happen, we're EXACTLY where we were in the mid
30s: consumers aren't spending, business isn't spending. We're in a
classic liquidity trap:

That means government has to spend or our economy is going to slide
into depression.

So that brings us back to the short-term vs the long-term. So here's
what we do:

(1.) Cut long-term defense, SS, and Medicare. Just do it. That fixes
the long term debt problem. Done.

(2.) Raise revenue by closing loopholes and raising taxes on those
making 750k+/yr. That fixes the short-term debt problem. Done.

(3.) Cut existing wars and create a modern-day CCC. This new gov't
agency would focus on 3 things:

(3.1) Transportation: Roads, bridges, tunnels, and high speed rail.
The US needs transportation infrastructure to fall back on if gas
gets too expensive and we can't fly. It's basically national defense.
Build the damn high speed rail.

(3.2) Energy: fix our electrical infrastructure. We may need it to
power all transportation in the event of an emergency. Just do it.

(3.3) Manufacturing. The top 2 countries in the World right now
(Sweden and Germany) are great designers AND great manufacturers.
They put their design know-how into manufacturing, they don't
outsource it. The US has "broke the chain" of talent and we need to
rebuild it.

There's what's "good" for Republicans, what's "good" for democrats,
and what's good for our country.

Either we do what I just wrote or we're not a super-power within 15 years.
