Having been through some major West Coast Earthquakes, (Sylmar in 71 and Northridge in 94). I'm more amused by this one than anything else. While it might have been stronger near the epicenter, by the time it rolled through here, it wasn't very much at all.
What I am finding amusing is the news coverage, which is about on par with the Northridge and Sylmar quakes (minus pictures of major damage). Heck, they even had Lucy Jones (the official USGS voice of earthquakes) on television. It's pretty surreal, because as I told my sister, "If I was in bed, I would have just drawn the covers over my head, wasn't worth getting out of bed". They not only evacuated the campus buildings where I work (NIST), they eventually sent everyone home with a caveat to call the status line tomorrow before coming in. Welcome to the East Coast. Small quakes, big reaction. I have no idea how anyone would survive one of the magnitude of Northridge (6.6) or Sylmar (6.6) Sandy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:341884 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
