Eyes Wide Shut was dreck. Scene after scene of self-important visuals
that added nothing to the story, actors that sleep walked through the
entire film.  Movies should be about telling a story.  Not just "look
at me, I'm a fancy director".

A Clockwork Orange and The Shining were the best of his work, but I
found them chaotic and boring, and not at all what I wanted after such
great enjoyment of the books.  Nichelson saved The Shining, but
Malcolm McDowell would have been my last choice as Alex in A Clockwork
Orange.

The music was good. Guess he had enough sense to hire great composers.
