The dumb have always been intimidated by those who are their intellectual superiors, so they lash out with whatever weapon is at their command. It used to be limited to the occasional letter to the editor, full of spelling and grammar errors. Unfortunately, the internet is so easy to use that even the dummies can sprout their opinions, which makes them a lot more audible. And of course, several of them have radio talk shows, which makes it even harder to ignore them.
