Subject: TSA Compliant Cupcake Makes For Hassle-Free Flying

You Are Now Free to Move About the Cabin: TSA Compliant Cupcake Makes
For Hassle-Free Flying (picture attached)

Providence, RI - January 12, 2011 - Silver Spoon Bakery, a Rhode
Island bake shop specializing in delivery of custom confections, is
excited to announce their newest cupcake: The Compliant Cupcake. This
cupcake is made of moist vanilla bean cake and is topped with a dollop
of the company’s signature vanilla bean frosting. Three ounces to be
exact. Prepared for take-off, this cupcake comes in its very own one
quart-size bag for proper adherence to the TSA 3-1-1 rule.

The Compliant Cupcake was created in response to what is being called
the TSA ‘Cupcakegate’. On a flight from Las Vegas, Massachusetts
resident Rebecca Hains’ carry-on cupcake was confiscated by
authorities at checkpoint. The frosting was deemed to be a gel and
exceeded the allowed three ounces permitted for carry-on. The TSA
stands by their decision to not allow the cupcake on the flight.

“We’re viewing this as a really fun, tongue-in-cheek cupcake,” said a
Silver Spoon Bakery spokesperson. “Cupcakes are fun - flying is not.
So why not enjoy a special treat, safely, while cruising at 30,000
feet? We’ve even included really fun toppers - like an image of
Richard Nixon saying ‘I am not a gel!’”

The Compliant Cupcake will be available for a limited time only and
comes with a cheeky boarding pass and fun decoration.

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always
has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant
thread winding its way through our political and cultural life,
nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance
is just as good as your knowledge." -
