John Boehner the republican speaker in the house has quite a lot of money invested in the Canadian tar sands or the Keystone XL pipeline project. I don't know about you but this really sounds like a significant conflict of interest - he stands to make quite a lot of money based on legislation he's sponsored.

The firms include six oil companies BP, Canadian Natural Resources, Chevron, Conoco Phillips, Devon Energy and Exxon along with Emerson Electric, which has a contract to provide the digital automation for the first phase of a $9.4 billion Horizon Oil Sands Project in Canada. ----- That does not include his investments in the specialty steel companies that will be making the pipeline sections. Also, a bit further on in the article it appears that Boehner has received over a million in campaign funds from the oil industry Now someone show me why this is not a conflict of interest. -- Larry C. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Issac As ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:345355 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
