He spoke at the local university.

His wife started things off by doing the "we are a traditional Christian
family and I stand by my man." thing. She wanted us to know that Romney
is a family man and holds family values above all else.

Then it was Romney's turn. He talked for 15 minutes. In that 15
minutes, he said absolutely nothing of substance. He ran down the list
of Republican interests and indicated his agreement with each. He could
have tossed up a power point and walked off the stage and been just as
informative.

His talking points in no particular order:

-Corporations are our friends
--- Jobs are good and we get them by letting businesses run the market
--- Deregulation is good for all
-More military spending
-Europeans are a bunch of social welfare failures
--- We don't want to be like those European welfare losers
-More exploitation of natural resources
-Anything Obama has done sucks

His only "promise" is that he is going to make this century an American
century and take America back to the things that made it great, though
he didn't say how. Oh, he also promised to fix the economy, again,
without specifying how. Maybe God will do it since we are God's chosen
country. Perhaps he has a sound and sensible fiscal policy with a
clear, step by step outline measured by intermediate, attainable goals
that serve as indicators of progress and opportunities for adjustment.
Maybe his plan involves wizards, astrology and divination. Who knows?

He lambasted Obama's campaign of Hope and Change while offering nothing
more than his own Republican version. I forget what he called it, but
it was still hope and change, repackaged, re-branded and ready for resale.

SS, DD. I am so disillusioned.
