Its more like the Republican establishment has decided on a nominee already, and have put the word out to their surrogates to attack the usurper Gingrich. Its a similar patter that was seen with George H. W. Bush in 1984, 1992, Dole in 1996, Bush I in 2000 and McCain in 2008.
Then again should they even be worried, Gingrich is almost guaranteed to self destruct.
