Its amazing what a huge amount of cash will do to a vote. The Mormon
church alone put in over 10 million into the referendum. In
combination with what various conservative groups and the Catholic
church put in the No vote was overwhelmed. Even with the 5 or 10 to 1
advantage in spending, the yes vote only managed to get a bare
majority of votes.
