"The News" does not exist. There are variety of sources of purported information, but all of them have bias driven by their desire to make a profit. The organizations that label themselves as "news" are in fact little more than propaganda voices. This is not a recent phenomenon, but is much more apparent with the advent of global communication.
The true problems arise when the populace either does not know, or does not care, that they are being misinformed and makes important decisions based on said propaganda.
