Well, Sunday I went to six flags in Texas and it was AWESOME! Totally AWESOME! :-) It was my first experience with real rollercoasters, and I must say I QUITE enjoyed it. The picture was taken at a point where the roller coaster tray was accelerated from 0 to 85 mph in 4 seconds from a height of 225 feet. At the bottom it straightens and you are shot into a 120foot tunnel. At this speed, if you blink you miss the tunnel though ^_^ http://www.sixflags.com/parks/overtexas/rides/titan.html My body shouted that my demise was imminent, whilst a small voice of reason in my mind kept whispering I was completely safe...nevermind that incident at Disney world last month.. The sensation of being twisted and twirled through the air, and then compressed at the bottom of a loop hundreds of feet high;then swirled in a corkscrew fashion round and round whilst your stomach seems to be fighting to go in every direction except where you're going;with wind buffeting you as you slash through the air at over 80mph, is one that I never thought I would enjoy. Oh how wrong I was! Whenever someone experiences something extraordinary, they always seem to compare it to sex. That wouldn't be a fair comparison in this case however, neither to myself nor the rollercoaster. It IS something that you all should experience though...it only really scares you the first time *wry chuckle*. Although a warning: do NOT wear boxer shorts when going on a roller coaster. Wear some snug fitting briefs. There were some added sensations to just my stomach moving about that I could have done without quite frankly. The little kid behind us obviously had absolutely no idea exactly how much danger he was in, hence his smile and the fact he was going WHEEE through the entire ride whilst we screamed. All in all I must have been on about..what? 5 roller coasters? All of them fairly large. One was called Gotham City and was a 'new' coaster, where one's feet hang precariously from the seat, free to move through the air. I also went on something called Roaring Rapids, where you sit in a circular 'raft' and are shot down a coiling course of raging water. I did, of course, get absolutely soaked. As my side of the raft somehow always ended up facing the oncoming waves and splashing water ;-) When visiting the US, Six Flags with these coasters is a MUST visit :-) Anywho....I'll catch you all later! Ciao, have fun and take care! -Gel "You've achieved success in your field when you don't know whether what you're doing is work or play."
