I don't think insane covers it.  This guy seems like a total sociopath.

That doesn't seem like something you can just turn off.  For those on 
here who have been in service or have been involved in combat, does it 
work that way?  I have heard of thinking of the enemy as not human, but 
isn't that something that is drilled into you, more than something you 
decide to just start thinking all of a sudden?
