I'm simply shocked at how under reported this fiasco is Chicago has been.
I feel it is a major indictment of our 4th estate.

The videos of the police shows absolutely and beyond reproach that the
police are using intimidation to attempt to stifle 1st amendment rights. I
am disgusted by their behavior, and cops like that are one of the reasons I
have always had a fuck the police attitude. The militarization of our law
enforcement is also well documented in here, and something else I despise.

I will say that the NDAA connection is nebulous as they have been charged
and given a bail amount, although excessive. I have read a bunch about the
kids arrested and it seems that the police are fabricating terrorism
charges using home brew kits. Several of these kids are known pacifists,
and they are reasonably well known within various protest movements from
around the country. I'm sure it's just a coincidence that they were
stopped and question/intimidated several days earlier. I have grave doubts
about the reality contained in the charges brought against them.

It's also interesting to me that some of the outside police that have been
brought in to back up the CPD are form Charlotte, N.C. where we can assume
there will likely be similar protests at the DNC.

As you know, while understand the seemingly valid complaints that many of
the protestors have, I do not always agree with their proposed solutions.
I do however totally and without reservation support their right to gather,
to march and to speak out; all of these things being central to the liberty
of our republic.

I become more disgusted by the actions of my government by the minute.
