No one knows how many same sex marriages have been performed in New York as NY does not require applicants to identify themselves by gender.
Also, the CDC says that there are 2 million marriages per year in the entire United States. If Sam's numbers are right, that means that more than half the people who get married every year in the United States do so in NY. Obviously, his stats are full of shit.
