Cam, Tyson's Corner *will* have good metro access once it's completed,
right now it doesn't, the Silver Line extension doesn't open until next
year.
Your best shots for "hip" and "fun" are either stay in the Dupont Circle
area, there's a gazillion restaurants..and night clubs or Old Town
Alexandria, close to the King Street Metro station... it's a 10 block walk
down King Street to the bar/restaurant area but it's eclectic and pretty
well stocked.
