That makes the statement much different, but, in my opinion, no closer to fact. Its not like GM sought out approval from the president to close the plant.
It is my understanding the President said he would try to prevent the plant form closing (honestly, I highly doubt he would have any say it it at all and should not have said that). Just because the plant closed, does not mean he didn't try.
