In the book, they "marriage" very young children and have full control over
those children.
Warren Jeffs forced the marriages of children and required them to have
sex. He was convicted on charges of abuse in the case of a 14 year old,
but a number of the women who have fled the cult have done so because they
feared their young children would become victims.

Under the Banner of Heaven was heavily vetted by the publishes, and the
second edition includes statements by the author debunking claims from the
Mormons of errors on his part. I found it very believable and very scary.

I do find it a bit amusing that Mitt insists that marriage had always been
between one man and one woman, yet his ancestors were polygamous. I also
found it very bizarre when his wife stated that they don't have sex. Do we
really want a man with his finger on the trigger who isn't getting laid,
and likely has a severe case of cerebral spermicitus?
