Only licensed gun sellers are required to do background checks. Private sellers 
are exempt from that. So if you sell a gun to someone who would not pass a 
state or federal background check, you only have to take their word for it, and 
yes, I am sure that they would lie. That is why I would ONLY sell a gun to 
either someone I know really well, or to a licensed gun seller/buyer.
