I think they were used in Libya to launch fighters for air superiority and
the bombing runs on Gaddffi's tanks and artillery.  They were also used in
both Gulf Wars.

Definitely in 1991's desert storm.

I think carriers are still a great weapon, IF you can protect them...which
is getting harder and harder.
