If you want me to be bland with my post, then what I am saying is that whether someone can or cannot say we need to address the root causes of terrorism is not and cannot be influenced by the paragraph which you posted. Why? Because it represents the view of one spokesman for ONE terrorist group which has a particular agenda. There are other terrorist groups out there with different agendas and different motives. Therefore it stands to reason that some of these motives can be addressed, and the reasons looked into at the very least.
