Today my son had segued a conversation into the term shotgun wedding which caused me to do a fast and humorous explanation of one in a yokel voice (apologies to any yokels here who may be offended).
A shotgun wedding is when the father of a girl goes after some boy that he feels has dishonored his daughter, many times after catching them together. The girl jumps between the father and the boy and says something like "But I love him" and the father says to the boy "well then you're gonna marry my daughter or I'm gonna use this here shotgun on ya." The boy has few options on what he can say: Yes No Is it loaded? How big are the bullets?
