I read an article about a woman whose home was broken into by two large men who raped her repeatedly and robbed her house. Before they left, they came back to rape her again. Fortunately for her while they were emptying her house she was able to retrieve her firearm and shot one of the intruders, the other ran out.
The stories can go both ways. He went to the wrong house and, when he could not explain himself to the satisfaction of the homeowner (he did not speak very much English) the homeowner shot and killed him. The homeowner claimed that the student was making some kind of threatening gestures (of course, he was just trying to explain what he was looking for) and was not charged with a crime.
