Speaking of getting stepped on...

My sister was driving yesterday, and a deer jumped out of the woods and through her
windshield.

After much heart pounding excitement to get herself and her 2-year old out of the car,
she called the police and a tow truck.

After everyone arrived and her car is up on the truck, she notices that the deer is
still alive and badly injured.

She thinks outloud, "I should have called someone to come and shoot the deer."

The cop puts on a set of mirrored shades, and cooly replies "You already did, ma'am."

He walks a few steps, draws and fires. End of deer.

She said it was the most surreal 5 seconds of her life. Just like a movie.

(of course, _he_ kept the deer. grumble, grumble)

If you step on a chipmunk in California you are in trouble.
