It is also the demographics - the republican party mostly appealed to
the older, less educated white voter, a demographic group that is
rapidly disappearing. The party did very poorly with Hispanics,
Blacks, Women and the educated, the numbers of these groups are
increasing substantially. So unless the party rejects the extremists,
they will be marginalized to the edges like the American Conservative
Party.
