When a post comes in, I strip out the RE: in the beginning of the post and save the 
subject in a DB field. I also save the original subject in a separate field. When I 
index the messages, I'm putting the mod subject (no re) into the search. 
Now as to your question, I really don't understand what your asking. Are you asking if 
someone put in a search of
"RE: cf-talk archive search not working??" would it find that? I don't think so. I 
could change it if need be but I really don't know anyone who searches on a specific 
subject like that.
