In 2008, while working for the state court system, I was offered a job managing the budget for San Francisco. I turned it down because I just wasn't up for dealing with the politics involved.
Even so, I'd rather live in San Francisco than any other big city on earth. Problems yes, but tiny problems compared to places like DC, Detroit or Atlanta. Late buses and bad audits are nothing compared with crime and joblessness. As for homeless problem, homeless come here from other cities because of the services and treatment they receive. And the mild weather.
