"If all your friends have jobs, life is good."

Ehhhh.  Good can have so many meanings.

It's good that they can put food on the table.  Not so good if they can't
afford to take the family to the movies.

Then there's the whole good for the community, state, nation angle.

Interesting tidbit about good.

During the Great Depression, life was real good for those who had jobs.
 Their standard of living went up dramatically due price and wage controls.
 It's the poor slobs who didn't have jobs that were in pitiful shape.  The
government did everything it could to help the poor, like destroying
livestock and produce to keep the prices high.
