So..basically..stupid laws and taxes has killed yet another internet based industry. Coming up next? The death of E-Commerce! *mutter* *grumble*
These morons want small companies that can barely survive on advertiser and subscription revenue, to pay as much as 100,000US a MONTH to the recording industry, for broadcasting radio over the internet. Who the hell is going to go into business to do that now? No One! Therefore what has this done to the Internet Radio industry? Killed it. Even the so called 'large' companies are saying that they won't be able to sustain themselves at that rate of US1.40 per 1000 visitors. And proponents of more payments from Internet Radio are saying the rate is still too low. Haven't they realised that all this would do is kill the industry, and they'll then get ZERO royalties?
