"Jerry, What are the sweeping generalisations which are untrue in that video The Story of Stuff. "
Hmmm. It happens in the first minute with a "system in crisis". It continues with the finite resources, which is presented in a misleading way. As resources grow more finite, they become more expensive. Alternatives are found. Then there is the whole part about representing the government with a tank and then lies about how much is spent on military. Then, she says it is the government's job to take care of us. Uh, no. She forgets to mention that unions and lobbyists bending government to its will while only covering corporations. The she says we going wipe out the animals. Please. We can't drill in Alaska now or build malls in CA due to animal protections. Then she says we are undermining the ability for people to live on the earth. However life expectancy is going up. Then she says the US has less than 4% of our countries original forest. Okay. Maybe only 4% of the tree present during the settling of the country are left (which is doubtful). However, forest are replanted when logged. and on and on and on an on. The video is purely propaganda. "The video isn't Anti-Capitalist as much as it is Anti- Non Sustainability." Yeah, yeah, yeah. Part of the Green Movement. In case you didn't know, the Green Movement is anti-capitalist.
