In the last 2 the VA has managed to clear about 34,000 of their oldest cases
which are about two years old. That's about half if claims that are two or more
years old. They will then tackle another 200,000 claims that are more than a
year old in about four months. The issue is that the sudden speed in which the
claims are being processed are causing decisions to be made in haste. There is
a feeling that there have been mistakes made and appeals will follow.
