As I said before, a decade ago I would have agreed with you.  Modern
life is too complex and too anonymous (in the sense that we don't live
in small villages where everyone knows everyone else) so we need
objective laws and reasonable protections to ensure safety in public
life (including laws to prevent drunk drivers from mowing down
pedestrians, bicyclists, and other drivers).  Also as I said before we
could go on all day, so I'm going to take my leave of this discussion
for now.
