The aim of the hoax is to redistribute wealth to groups and businesses which certain congressmen and people in government in the united states are a part of. It's a liberal agenda meant to consolidate power, so that liberals are able to push laws to limit capitalism and energy companies that favour the republican party.
And grants, scientists get lots of grant money from the government to research global warming and monitor the planet. If Global Warming was not man-made, then they wouldn't get any money. So they have to show that it is manmade otherwise they would be out of work. It's all about United States politics and economics, on a global scale.
