No sam ultrasounds are not a common piece of the abortion procedure. Its usually only a mandated procedure. it was the wording of the law. before the 2rd trimester (which is when most abortions take place), the fetus is too small to see using standard ultasound equipment. So to follow the law, clinics would have had to shove a probe up the woman's vagina to do the mandated ultrasound.
BTW I also did not mention Obenshaen's and Cuccinelli's support of a personhood bill which would make most forms of conception illegal.
