I dumped Comcast because they are assholes. When my ex-wife left, she cancelled the Comcast account we had that was in her name. Comcast wouldn't let me stop the account closure andf told me I had to just go and open an account in my name. So I did that and then the next day they suspended it, saying that my ex-wife's account had an outstanding balance and that they would not reopen my account until that account was paid. Never during this process did they say that I had to pay off my ex's account first until after I opened mine and they shut it down. I told them that either I have control of the original account and then I am financially responsible for it or if I do not have control over it, I am not financially responsible for it. They didn't agree so I cancelled my service and demanded my deposit back...which I got. Ever since then, I have been using a Roku device and a Sony Brevia streaming device on my TV's to watch shows. I wish HBO and the other premium channels offered outside subscriptions...that is such an untapped revenue stream. I don't really care for the Playon service. It is slow and full of commercials. It's also one of the issues I have with Hulu plus. I am paying for a subscription and they still put in a ton of commercials.
