In the past I have always built my own systems, and they have been great!

However, now that the prices are so low I would probably buy a dell instead.
Especially since they will warranty the system!!! The service alone is
great. Plus, if you build your own, you have to buy a windows license,
which will up the price considerably.

Go with the Dell.

Subject: New computer

It's always when you don't want to that you have to get a new computer. I've
got to upgrade my home system and I've got a question for anyone here who
knows hardware; Is it better to buy a complete system or to build it. I've
got a quote of $1608 for a 2ghz Dell with 512 ram and 80 gig hard, plus a 19
inch. It looks like a stacked system but would there be a major savings if I
bought all the parts and built it from scratch? Shipping isn't an issue as
Dell has free shipping now.
