Why would you need to be a biologist to accept that all life may have evolved from a single cell?
I am not an astronomer, yet I do not believe earth is the only planet in the universe with life. Is that 'faith'? No. When you consider that there are billions of galaxies, each with potentially billions of stars, the chance we are the only planet with life is pretty slim.
