======================================================== Georgia-Pacific Chairman and Chief Executive Announced Product Name Change ATLANTA, GA. June 27, 2002 --A.D. "Pete" Correll, chairman and chief executive officer of Georgia-Pacific Corp. (NYSE: GP), announce today the immediate change of the "Dixie" brand name. A live audio Webcast of Correll's remarks and presentation will be accessible via Georgia-Pacific's Web site beginning at approximately 12:40 p.m. Eastern time. Correll will provide an overview of the company's name change decision. Dixie, one of the most well-recognized brand names in North America, got its start in 1908 when two men in Boston first produced an individual drinking cup they called the Health Kup. In order to maintain the highest level of political correctness, Georgia-Pacific will rename this line of products which has harbored a name that connotes the pre Civil War South. The Dixie brand line of products will be renamed after the two men who first produced the products, Henry and James Dingle. Correll announced that "The new Dingle brand of paper cups and other sundries are proper for the 21st century. No longer will our products be associated with 'bad' things."
