I don't know that I believe that. I think there are plenty of racists in the Democratic and various Independent parties.
What I _do_ believe is that Republican racists are much more open and vocal, as there are no repercussions in their social and political circles for being so. And I also think that they are much, much more open about it than they were 10 or 20 years ago. As they feel their comfort zone slip away. I also truly believe so far the next generation are less racist, although there are some hard-core racists families doing a good job of training the youth.
