I've changed my mind quite a few major issue as I have matured....hopefully many of us have.
As a kid/teen I was anti abortion, cuz that's what my parents taught me. Today, i'm ambivalent. As a kid/teen I was pro death penalty, cuz an eye for an eye. Today, i'm against (but not ardently) because I basically don't think the State should be in the business of murder as a form of punishment. As a kid/teen I was against gay marriage, cuz what's the point, give them civil unions. Then someone pointed out to me this was the equivalent of "separate but equal", so i rethought my position. As a kid/teen I thought the Constitution infallible, cuz "AMERICA!!!!". Then i watched someone get shot on the news every night for no reason. Now I question what exactly hand guns are really protecting. As a kid/teen I believed in God. Today........well......... ...sometimes learning sucks. Because it's impartial. It doesn't care if it's conclusion is not to your liking. Perhaps that, above all, is why some people are so resistant to learning and changing their minds. I want a world with God and no global warming...but i fear it's the other way around.
