The Pentagon has declared that climate change, which is NOT happening, is a clear and present danger to the security of the United States.
What the hell is wrong with these tree hugging hippies? How can they declare something that isn't happening a present danger? Here's one writer's take on it. The movie Interstellar explores these possibilities, and what it would mean for humanity. Many people seem to think that the only thing that can save us are new breakthrough technologies that allow us to boost our food production, reverse environmental pollution through actively removing it, and increase our quality of life through medical advances. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/14/us/politics/climate-change-deemed-growing-security-threat-by-military-researchers.html?_r=0 "The global data is unquestionable. <http://sploid.gizmodo.com/> Man-made or not, I don't care, the fact is that climate change *is*happening. It's drastic and it's accelerating, and we may not be able to stop it<http://gizmodo.com/the-antarctic-ice-sheet-has-started-to-collapse-and-not-1575164209/1575426657/+jesusdiaz> at this point. Computer simulations show that we are headed to a place where humanity hasn't been before. The projections are so bad that the military have deemed it a national security threat<http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/14/us/politics/climate-change-deemed-growing-security-threat-by-military-researchers.html?_r=0> already. And trust me, the men and women of the Pentagon are not tree-hugging hippies. As climate changes, everything changes. We are already seeing the effects on agriculture, with ruined crops and food scarcity in many parts of the world. Or better said, *we* are *not* seeing itâpeople who live in third world countries are. Our oceans' fisheries are also dwindling quickly, with many species on the verge of exhaustion. Combine this with the millions of poor people getting out of poverty conditions in China, India, South America and Africa. They are consuming more and more of resources that are already scarce. More food. More energy. More oil. More everything. Even if the population doesn't go up, the demand will keep increasing at a fast rate. It's not going to stop." ᧠~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:370151 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
