DragonCon is great - its been going for at least 20 may 30 years. Well worth attending one.
Also you may want to check out InterventionCon in Rockville MD at the end of August. http://interventioncon.com/ Both have big Anime and Manga. There's also Otacon http://otakon.com/ that's almost a pure Anime festival.
