If you're not doing a lot of volume, look at something like Stripe or
Braintree to integrate payments into your website. Their rates are a
little higher than what you'd find with a traditional merchant
account, but it offloads the need for you to deal with PCI compliance
if you were to handle the CC directly (e.g. you pay a little more for
them to deal with all the risk and security). Alternately, if you're
really low volume, just use PayPal or Google to power your checkout
page.

If you're doing many thousands of dollars a month in transactions then
it may be worth doing a traditional merchant account where you can get
lower rates, but you will need to deal with PCI compliance and
security and a lot of headaches.
