Democrats had a complete monopoly on political power since 1961. There has not been a single Republican mayor.
Put conservatives in charge or Detroit and "eventually" it'll get fixed. All the liberal, progressive policies of the last half-century started and continued the swirling waters which eventually flushed Detroit down the toilet.
