It might be helpfull in the discussion to distinguish between the labels 
the law gives you and the labels the media gives you.

The law does not label you a racist if you say that you are proud to be 
white. But the law does withhold family visiting rights to a gay partner.
The media label you a racist if you say you are proud to be white. The 
media tend to favour familiy visiting rights to a gay partner.

Does this strike anybody else as rather paradoxical?
