I was thinking about this and I think this is much easier to explain (some
people have two daddies instead of a mommy and a daddy) than a kid with two
mommies and two daddies (i.e. divorced and remarried parents). I remember
as a kid being very confused by a friends family - two sets of parents all
called mom and dad, step sibs on one side and half sibs on the other. Was
really quite a conundrum for me - I could not understand how one could have
TWO sets of mommy's and daddy's.
