I hold the combination of Real and Microsoft personally (is that 
possible with a company?) responsible for getting everybody back to the 
dark ages of unicast. Online streaming is actually quite a bit older as 
Real is, but it used to be Unix only because the crappy MS TCP/IP stack 
couldn't support multicast. And Real jumped into the gap.

No. I just happen to be on a multicast enabled network (if you are on 
the MBone you can actually watch it as well) and the Dutch national TV 
is very bad at securing their network. It is supposed to be off but it 
still works, that's how good we are :)
