Philip- when BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) rail was being built and tested in the SF suburbs they were having spurious problems with the trackside train control boxes. Turns out rodents were fond of eating the insulation on the cables. The engineers had to replace all the wiring with metal-clad. You have been warned!
