We were truly fortunate when the kids were little - my
wife's parents lived about 45 minutes away.

Sometimes we would "lend" them the kids for a weekend or
even a week.

They got some real quality time with the grandkids, then
got to give them back <g>.

We got some real quality time with each other as husband
and wife, not Daddy and Mommy, then got the kids back to
enjoy again.

The kids got to know their grandparents better, be not
quite as clingy to us.

Was a win-win-win.
