Well I got home from work yesterday to find that one of our cinnamon sugar gliders was
in the bottom of the cage. We thought she was dead, but we found she was just holding
on. She was very cold and skinny so we thought her mate Hansel had kept Gredal from
eating, we gave her some warm sugar water to get her blood sugar up. Since Gliders are
prone to hypoglycemia (sp) we figured that would help her come around. Well she drank
for a big on and off for a hour or so but after that, it was out of our hands. She was
only 2 years old normal life span in captivity is 15 years. She passed at 945 I had
left her under a blanket figuring maybe she was sick and she was trying to get into
the darkness and rest since they are naturally nocturnal. I just happened to look
under the blanket at the time
when I saw her take her last breath and then she started to hemorrhage and she was
gone for good. She was carrying 2 babies upto the other day too and she must have
killed them again. I don't know. Very sad. We are having a necropsy done on her today
to find out what was wrong. The place we live has been putting Rat Poison in a powder
form in everyone's roofs (doesn't seem like the best idea to me) and wife got a little
sick from it and we've had a few roof leaks that they've been fixing so I hope she
didn't get some rat poison in her system to kill her.

oh well
