Gel: I agree with your thought that the ballplayers must feel frustrated when their salary is cut in half. Sure, I'd be pissed too. I don't think there's a person around who wouldn't. It's a human reaction.
However, they SHOULD be grateful for what they have -- they live the dreams of kids around the world, and make tons of money doing it. There is absolutely NO reason that they should be making the money they do. Yes, they're entertainers, and entertainers get paid lots of money... but sorry -- I don't see a baseball player being worth upwards of 100K a day. A brain surgeon, yes. Cancer researchers, AIDS researchers, rescue workers, Cold Fusion Programmers, firemen, police, teachers... yes, they deserve lots of money. Ok, well... maybe not the CF programmers... ok, yeah... we need the money too! ;) The point is that they make more than enough. There's no justifiable reason you could give me that proves a whiney ballplayer deserves the kind of money they make. Know what? Pay me my current salary and I'll play baseball for ANY team, 365 days a year, in bad weather and hurt.
